We are pleased to announce the theme for Frinton Literary Festival’s annual short story prize.
For 2023, entrants will be asked to pen up to 1000 words on the theme ‘Secrets’.
We are looking for stories with a secret at its heart. Whose secret it is and its repercussions is
entirely up to you. Your story can be set anytime in the past, present or future.
Please note, that the Frinton Literary Festival short story prize is only open to writers who reside in Essex and you must be over the age of 18 to enter. For full terms and conditions please visit the short story webpage here.
Whatever your big secret is, just make sure you tell us in up to 1000 words or fewer(excluding title), and email it to us at enquiries@flitfest.co.uk by the deadline of 30th September 2023.
The prizes for this year’s short story competition are:
The winner (in the opinion of the judges) will receive a £50 Caxton Books and Gallery gift token.
Two runners up will each be awarded a £25 gift token (for Caxton Books and Gallery.)
Prizes will be awarded at our Afternoon Tea event on Sunday 29 th October.
