£20 |
Bar with themed cocktails from local mixologist (drinks not included in ticket)

Greta Scacchi, award-winning actress in film, television and theatre, talks and answers questions from the audience about her experiences of working on literary adaptations such as Heat & Dust, Presumed Innocent, The Player, Emma, Brideshead Revisited, Miss Marple, Poirot and War & Peace. This special evening will not only offer the chance to hear behind-the-scenes stories and career highlights from this highly accomplished performer, but also bring insight into just how a story makes its way from page to stage and screen.

Scacchi was born in Italy and later moved first to England and then to Australia. She returned to England to train at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, and made her screen debut in 1982, leading to a career in which she has appeared in more than 50 films across a 40-year career, including in Italian and French, as well as acclaimed theatre productions around the world. She has received an Emmy and BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations, as well as awards from the Australian Film Institute, the Cannes Film Festival and been made a Knight in the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic for her services in the Italian arts.

Greta currently co-stars in the Australian hit TV mystery series Darby and Joan, and it is a welcome to return to Frinton for her following her star appearance as Bette Davis at Frinton Summer Theatre last year.

Here she talks to crime writer and critic Peter Guttridge, for 12 years the Observer’s crime fiction critic, who is a film journalist and author, former director of Brighton Literature Festival and founder of Scarborough Book Festival.
