‘What 1967 anti-Vietnam War song has 26 verses and runs for 25 minutes?’

‘Trying to decide if that’s too hard or too easy is a nightmare,’ says Clive Brill as he accumulates and assesses potential questions for Frinton Literary Festival’s Quiz Night on Friday, May 30.

‘It’s a challenge. There are so many brilliant quizzers out there and just as many people out for a fun, social evening - pitching the questions just right can be tough. It’s a fabulous meeting of many minds.’

The quiz will be at McGrigor Hall in Frinton and is raising money to support the literary festival that runs from October 21st to 26th.

‘We’re excited to announce this year’s line-up of authors at the Quiz Night,’ continues Clive. ‘Once again we’ve an excellent range of writers, with some that you’ll know from tv and stage.

‘Before that happens we’ve started wrapping our “mystery books” that will be on sale on the night where fate will decide your next read! Apart from six rounds of questions, play your cards right and a raffle, a £10 ticket also includes a free drink. Tickets are available from Caxton Books in Connaught Avenue.

‘And the answer? Arlo Guthrie’s Alice’s Restaurant. You can hear it on YouTube.’
