WEDNESDAY 22ND AND THURSDAY 23RD OCTOBER
SCH00L VISITS
Charlie Higson will be visiting Tendring Primary Schools as part of our programme to make books and storytelling available to local children. His adult and YA thrillers aside, he is the author of Worst. Holiday. Ever. and Worst. Superhero. Ever. – hilarious adventures which have won him a new generation of fans. Featuring Stan, who learns how to face fears, deal with worries, and that it's OK to be anxious, scared, and sometimes a little bit brave, we know they will delight teachers, parents and pupils alike.
We’re very excited to welcome Nizrana Farook to Walton and Frinton schools for a day of talks and creative workshopping. She has also appeared at a storytelling event with Queen Camilla! Born and raised in Colombo, Sri Lanka, the beautiful landscapes of her home country find their way into the stories she writes, as does her love for elephants, whales, leopards and bears, and their behaviours inform her stories. Her first book, The Girl Who Stole an Elephant, was the UK’s biggest selling middle-grade debut of the year and nominated for the CILIP Carnegie Medal and longlisted for the Blue Peter Award.
If you are a parent or teacher and would like to become involved or learn more about our schools programme, please write us at enquiries@frintonliteraryfestival.co.uk.
