Join historian and author Professor Catherine Clarke as she explores more than a thousand years of English history through 25 remarkable poems. Drawing on her acclaimed book A History of England in 25 Poems, Catherine reveals how verse can transport us to battlefields, royal courts, coal mines and family homes, offering fresh perspectives on the people and moments that shaped our nation.
Professor of History at the Institute of Historical Research, University of London, Catherine combines expert knowledge with warmth, humour and engaging storytelling, bringing history vividly to life for readers and audiences alike.
When she's not researching or teaching, Catherine lives in Dorset and does as much of her writing as possible in her family's beach hut – making her visit to Frinton's coast especially fitting.
